Irvine, CA – Residents of an Irvine, CA apartment complex, many of whom are students at University of California, Irvine arrived home to find a flyer hanging in the elevator.
Pay attention that third paragraph, which they nicely put into bold text.
“We also would like to remind our African-American residents to keep conversation volume down and reduce music levels between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.”
You know….cause ya’ll niggers is just too loud and stuff.
Apparently there had been noise complaints in the past, although, one UCI student, who didn’t want to be identified, says she and her roommates have received “three noise complaints when there was no music playing in their apartment”, so the jury is still out on that.
The apartment complex, Toscana Apartments, is owned by a company called Equity Residential. Ironic, no? Inequity in the building owned by Equity?
To be fair, Equity claims that neither they, nor any of their employees created the flier.

You know, even though that IS their logo on the bottom.
I guess they should be looking for a tenant with Photoshop experience.
Originally called a “hoax” by many, a young lady who identified herself as “TT” on the Instagram account “@teyent_theequeenb” posted a video of the flyer hanging in situ. The video and the account have since been deleted.
But not before she wrote, “Lord give me strength to finish school in Irvine,” she wrote as her Instagram caption.
Welcome to the post-racial society.
