Day 2: and Osama still burns in hell

I just checked, and Oh Joy! Osama bin Laden? Still fucking dead.

Granted, does this mean the world is all better now? We’ll have peace and love? Unicorns and glitter?

Nope.

The truth is, evil exists. Always has, and always will. Osama bin Laden was just the poster boy of this type of evil, and of his group Al Qaeda. And lest we believe Al Qaeda is no more, keep in mind that bin Laden’s right hand man, Ayman al-Zawahiri, who reports say is expected to replace bin Laden on the FBI’s Most Wanted list, is still out there somewhere. (Hey, Ayman….hear those footsteps behind you? It’s my brothers and sisters in the US Military. They will hunt you. They will find you. They will tuck you in for a nice long dirt nap. Believe that.)

Osama Bin Laden burns in hell

And then again, we also have hundreds of other hateful beings roaming around and chanting “Death To America” as well…many with Osama in mind.

QUETTA: Hundreds took to the streets of Quetta on Monday to pay homage to Osama bin Laden, chanting death to America and setting fire to a US flag, witnesses and organisers said.

Angry participants belonging to a religious party in Quetta, the capital of southwestern province Baluchistan, were led by federal lawmaker Maulawi Asmatullah.

They also torched a US flag before dispersing peacefully. It was the first rally in Pakistan after the United States announced that bin Laden had been killed in an overnight commando mission in Pakistan.

Organisers said between 1,000 and 1,200 people attended the rally, but witnesses put the figure closer to 800. “Bin Laden was the hero of the Muslim world and after his martyrdom he has won the title of great mujahed (Muslim fighter),” Asmatullah said

(emphasis mine)

So, of course, we in the West will be wary and on alert.

The good news is, to paraphrase what John Stewart said last night on the “Daily Show”, maybe now the ‘face of Islam’ can become the young people struggling for freedom and equality in places like Yemen, Egypt and Lybia…and no longer be the faces of mass murderers like bin Laden. Although the decided lack of rallies in support of bin Laden’s death in areas of the Muslim world does give me pause.

And to the Muslim radicals who preach hate and foment violence wordlwide? I repeat what I said yesterday….dont start none, wont be none.

WTFs Next
Sometimes you stand there and think, “WTF’s Next?” while looking at a situation or something on the news. And you’re left to point, fret, wonder and mull it over alone.

I instead choose to write all that crap down HERE and get it off my chest.
